West Side Story
Review:
I disliked this film because found it very long and boring but a beautiful love story . But it is also a tragedy because there are a lots of dead. This is a musical film and I hate this type of film. My favorites times is the final battle between the leaders of the Sharks, Bernardo, and the leader of the jets Riff. But in the battle Bernardo kills Riff so Tony, a member of gang of the Jets in love of the marya, sister at bernardo, kills Bernardo !! I found that there was too much song, and too much long. When they sang the song seen in class it was funny because I sang it with some classmates.
Similarities and differences between WSS and R&J
West Side Story is very similar has Romeo and Juliet because this is a love story between two different gang members. Indeed two films are tragedies because in evry gang one or two characters.
West Side Story has also differences with romeo and juliet.
For example, in R&J juliet is dead while in WSS marya is not dead. In 1961 R&J is is adapted to the cinema by Jerome robbins and Robert Wise. If you are interessed:
