West side story
This is a musical directed by Jerome Robbins and Robert Wise. It is an adaptation of the famous Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet.
This film won 10 Academy Awards. It's an old film because his first production was in broadway in 1957.
West side story speak about two rivals gangs: the Jets (led by Riff) and the Sharks (led by Bernardo). But a "Jets" fall in love of Maria the sister of Bernardo so lots of problems begining between this gangs.
They are few different between West side story and Romeo and Juliet for exemple Tony (Jets) love Maria but they cannot stay together and for Romeo and Juliet it is identic. For the end they are lots of similitary: Maria d'ont died whereas ,in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet died because she is very sadly.
To my mind this film is so beautiful because there are love, actions...
It is very tragic and this comedy is not very realist because the actors sing and dance in the neighbourhood so it is very etrange but comic. When I have watch the film I went to prevent something from happening but it's impossible!
