sea of hands Rochas Alexandra

Sea of hands

The Sea of Hands was created in 1997 and it was an event created for the reconciliation.

"Seas of Hands " were installed in all the major cities throughout Australia.

Sea of Hands installations were designed by Deb Lennis.

Over 300,000 Australians have signed their names on one of 120,000 plastic hands that make up the Sea of Hands, to show their support for Native Title and Reconciliation.

ANTAR = Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation

This video shows various installations of " Sea of Hands ". I appreciated these magnificent installations a lot !

On Wednesday 13th February, Australia's Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, is saying sorry to the Stolen Generation of Indigenous Australians.

The colours of the Sea of Hands represent the colours of the Aboriginal flag ( red, black and yellow ) and the Australian flag ( blue and white ).

I believe that the " Sea of Hands " was a very good idea. We should all sign and act now !!!!

I liked this work because I learnt a lot of things such as(?) and I hope to continue in class !!
